I’m so happy to read this chapter of water over rocks for several reasons. A few weeks ago I realized that WOR was not in my in box recently, and I worried about why.
Now understanding your well deserved hiatus, it was soothing to read your words. Thank you!
Your post touches me deeply. More than 20 years ago a teacher who became a mentor to me passed away. The grief I felt was as strong as when my own father passed away. I cried daily, not knowing what I would do without our weekly email conversations. I decided to return to the literature I studied with him and read poem after poem after poem, which helped me to feel closer to him. Years have passed, and now my own former students have begun reaching out to me, which I relish. I am sorry for the losses you have suffered. May all of our departed teachers’ memories be a blessing.
Thank you Susan for this beautiful reply. I really appreciate it and I love your own solution -- to read the poetry that brought you close to your teacher and to be in touch with your own students. Sending love.
Thanks for this. I really enjoy reading about your approach to understanding and dealing with the difficulty we are facing in the world. The comparison to Abraham and the future he was promised is very powerful and relevant. Hazak, hazak, venithazek.

That is very kind of you Jason. I am honored to provide some comfort to our shared anguish. Hazak, hazak, indeed. And Shabbat Shalom. Andy
