Thank you to a reader who shares that rather than emphasize the theft of neglecting to mention someone's name, there is the benefit of the reward when you do mention someone's name from whom you learned words of Torah: "And who says a thing in the name of him who said it. Thus you have learned: everyone who says a thing in the name of him who said it, brings deliverance into the world, as it is said: “And Esther told the king in Mordecai’s name” (Esther 2:22)." His To Life: A Celebration of Jewish Being and Thinking is one of the books that made me certain that I did indeed want to be a Jew. As I start my conversion process, I owe him a great deal for the beautiful words in that book--I've returned to them often and I recommend it as a beautiful love letter to Judaism.
